I  r  m  a   r  s  a  r  a

My work is abstract, with a strong emphasis on colour
and the occasional use of recognisable elements and symbols.
I try to create a harmonious interdependency and the feeling
of entering into a space, using whatever techniques
are required to put forward my ideas. These include printmaking,
installations, bookworks and painting on gesso.
Because I grew up in the Dolomite region of northern Italy
- high altitude, far horizons and snow-covered landscapes -
nature plays a big part in my creativity, both mentally and physically.
For over ten years, I've been producing paper pulp artworks,
using various hand-made paper techniques.
I often use organic material, either embedded in the pulp
or stripped away, wet or dry, to reveal the layers underneath,
and the work is often produced in natural settings in the open air.
